From babies to bouquets, how I became a florist.
I started as a hobby whilst I worked as a community midwife in Harlow, Essex, gradually spending more time with flowers than women and babies, until in 2016, I decided to make floristry my full time career!
I initially self-trained, gaining inspiration from other like-minded florists and flower farmers, and feel this helps with my creativity and breaking boundaries of traditional floristry methods. I did, three years into running my own business complete a City & Guilds level 2 Diploma in Floristry, achieving a distinction (purely because I love studying). I have also completed many sustainable and event styling floristry courses with fantastic independent florists to further my skills and knowledge.
My passion for floristry comes from a love of gardening, nature, creativity, and connecting with people - and what better way to bring all of that together than by becoming a wedding florist?
I have been creating wedding flowers for many years, my approach and style being that of an English country garden; think rambling roses, wispy trails of ivy and jasmin, scented blooms and quirky stems. I love creating natural floral arches, breathtaking urns, long meadow runners and show-stopping bouquets.
My Approach
I’m personable, I love meeting new people, I love the challenge of bringing out the ideas and creating a vision for my prospective clients, I am enthusiastic about colour, texture and the romance & beauty of flowers, and I hope this energy passes to my couples.
